I strive to create a compassionate and supportive space where individuals feel heard, validated, and empowered in their healing journey. By fostering a safe and nonjudgmental environment, I aim to encourage self-exploration, resilience, and growth, helping individuals build the skills they need to navigate life's challenges with confidence and well-being.
I am currently receiving comprehensive clinical training to provide psychological counseling and therapy to individuals navigating emotional, psychological, and trauma-related challenges. I am particularly passionate about utilizing evidence-based interventions to support those affected by Affective Disorders and promote overall mental well-being.
Before joining FSHN, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist at the Center for Anxiety & Trauma in London, where I contributed to therapeutic programs and research exploring the cultural aspects of mental health. I also gained valuable experience at Wood Psychology in Montreal, where I supported clinical operations and assisted clients in accessing the most appropriate therapeutic resources.
Alongside my professional roles, I have had the privilege of volunteering with several organizations. I served as a Tutor & Mentor at the Taylor Adolescent Program, where I provided academic and social support to adolescents with learning disorders. As a Case Manager at the Montreal Therapy Center, I provided support to clients awaiting therapy and participated in trauma-focused case discussions with mental health professionals. I also mentored youth at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal, promoting leadership and independence, and coordinated care for isolated seniors through the Telehealth Intervention Program, offering social support and building meaningful therapeutic relationships.
My academic and research work has primarily focused on childhood trauma, specifically how early life stress can influence the development of depression in adulthood. This research has deepened my commitment to trauma-informed care and the long-term impact of trauma on mental health.
In my current role at FSHN, I continue to build on my clinical training and skills to provide psychological counseling, while also actively contributing to mental health advocacy. I work closely with the marketing team to ensure that our mental health education and outreach efforts resonate with diverse communities and help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Fluent in both English and Arabic, I am dedicated to offering culturally sensitive care and empowering individuals to better understand their mental health, build resilience, and lead fulfilling lives.
