Prior to joining FSHN, I worked as a Senior Psychologist in the Child and Family Unit at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, where I worked with children and adolescents. I also previously worked for several years as the Educational Psychologist at Bayan International School (BIS) and Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS). As a licensed psychotherapist with vast clinical experience in the educational field, I can provide effective counseling services, plan and implement integrated life-skills programs, develop individual educational plans, offer guidance and support to students of different educational abilities, and provide parent-skills training. Before starting my career as a psychologist, I received my Bachelor’s degree (with a post-graduate higher diploma) in education, and my Master’s in clinical psychology from the University of The Western Cape, South Africa.
I am also registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Council of Educators (SACE), in addition to being an active member of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA). My treatment approach is based on multiple therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and systemic family therapy.
