ABOUT FSHN

Our Story

Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN) is a Kuwait-based non-profit, multi-disciplinary healthcare institution, providing high-quality, integrated care across a number of clinical specialties.

FSHN was founded in 2006, where it was originally known as Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute.

Our founders had initially set out to establish a specialized physiotherapy clinic that would institute a new standard of excellence within the field in Kuwait; hoping to fill what seemed to be major gap in the country’s healthcare landscape at the time. However, it soon became apparent that the healthcare needs of the Kuwaiti community ran much deeper, and the clinic’s non-profit, evidence-based model was expanded to multiple other specialties.

Over the course of a few short years, the one-time physiotherapy clinic evolved into a holistic healthcare institution providing multi-disciplinary rehabilitative services, and was eventually renamed the Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute (FSRI).

In 2017, our organization made the official transition into Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN), to better reflect who we are today. Today, we are proud to say that FSHN remains the only non-profit healthcare organization of its kind in Kuwait.

Our Community

From the very beginning, FSHN has been a firm believer in community outreach and social responsibility. As a non-profit organization, we know that community initiatives and collaborations can be powerful tools to not only create awareness, but also affect real change within our society.

Our core mission is to promote health and well-being across Kuwait, by empowering the local community through knowledge and education. We strive to promote a more health-conscious society, by advocating for preventive healthcare and endorsing health and wellness as ways of life. We are also committed to helping improve and develop the healthcare sector in Kuwait; through research, education, training, and local capacity building.

We are proud to be active members of Kuwait’s thriving civic society, often partnering with various other non-profits and NGOs who share similar goals and values. Over the years, we have also developed a number of long-standing and highly productive relationships with companies and organizations across both the public and private sectors, working with these partners towards the benefit of the local community.

FSHN maintains a rich and diverse program of community initiatives, focused on raising awareness and rallying support for a myriad of topics affecting our local community. One of our biggest and most successful initiatives to date is RunQ8. What began as a relatively small charity race in 2010 has now become one of the most prominent community healthcare initiatives in the country. Today, RunQ8 seeks to raise awareness and funds to support children with disabilities; helping children who have been unable to obtain the treatment and support they need elsewhere, and giving them access to much needed treatment for free or at a subsidized lower cost.
