When I first started my career as a Dietitian, I worked at the Food and Nutrition Administration at the Ministry of Health. During my career there, I studied claims of foods for medical purposes (such as supplements) which were then either granted approval for sale or rejected and awaiting more research to be published. Moreover, during my time at the administration, I was part of a team in creating nutritional guidelines for obesity, pediatrics, diabetes, and others. The nature of my work there involved a lot of reading the latest publications, while also interviewing potential candidates as dietitians at the Ministry of Health. After that, I decided I would like to expand my knowledge in my field, so I transferred to Jaber AlAhmad Hospital where I currently work full-time as an Internal Medicine Dietitian. At the hospital, I am involved with many physicians, nurses, and speech and language pathologists, and we work together as a team to provide the best care for our patients. I am a qualified tube feeding specialist, which means that I review their case and bloodwork, and I use foods for medical purposes (medical nutritional supplements) as a soul source of nutrition via a nasogastric tube or peg-tube. I also help patient wean off their feeding tube and help the gradually consume food orally.
I am able to work with a wide range of clients, from weight management to complex medical cases.
