I am deeply passionate about mental health education, advocacy, and supporting individuals on their journey to self-discovery and well-being. Through trust, empathy, and collaboration, I strive to create a safe space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.
My academic and professional focus has been centered on trauma and its long-term impact on individuals. I have contributed to research on gender-based violence and financial abuse, which has strengthened my understanding of how social and environmental factors influence mental health. Additionally, my experience in crisis support has allowed me to provide survivors of trauma with compassionate care during their most vulnerable moments.
As someone of both Chinese and Kuwaiti heritage, my multicultural background gives me a unique perspective on the diverse challenges individuals face. I am committed to creating an inclusive therapeutic environment where cultural identity and lived experiences are recognized and respected, ensuring that clients feel truly seen and understood.
Outside of FSHN, I am actively working on publishing research exploring the experiences of intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors in accessing mental health support. I also volunteer with Chayn, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and tackling gender-based violence. In my free time, I enjoy journaling and reading as many books as I can.
I believe in a holistic approach to therapy—one that integrates research, community engagement, and client-centered interventions. By embracing cross-cultural perspectives, I aim to create meaningful, inclusive mental health spaces where individuals from all backgrounds feel supported in their growth.
