Nikhila Thomas is a counseling psychologist with extensive experience in the education sector.
Nikhila’s training includes cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy, art therapy as well as couples therapy. Nikhila has been working with students for the past 8 years in schools. Prior to working in Kuwait, she has worked as a jail psychologist in Missouri, USA. Nikhila also has worked for the Child protective services in the USA.
Nikhila received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then got her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Evangel University, Missouri. During her Masters Program, she worked for the Graduate and the Professional Studies Department as their Graduate Assistant.
Nikhila is a certified Family Trauma Therapist as well as a certified Compassion Fatigue Therapist. She has done intensive training for Play Therapy from Michigan
State University. Nikhila also has certifications for couple’s therapy using Gottman approach, Relational Life Therapy Approaches, EFT and Imago Therapy. She has been trained to work for crisis in schools in Kuwait. Nikhila has a certification for working with children and youth from the Counseling Center in Ontario.
Nikhila currently is the treasurer for the Middle Eastern Psychological Association. She is also one of the mentor’s for the Kuwait Counseling Network for School Counselors.
