We don’t just treat symptoms- we treat people.

FSHN is proud to offer a unique service in Kuwait: Integrative Medicine

FSHN’s fully integrated approach to healthcare is likely a little different from the healthcare you’re used to. We believe comprehensive testing, spending time with patients, and hearing their concerns is the best way to create personalized treatment plans. Therefore, we take comprehensive head to toe bio-testing and fully evaluate your total body and mind. Based on these data, we integrate traditional medical care and holistic medicine in ways that promote wellness, as well as treat and prevent disease.

What is Integrative Medicine?

  • We fully evaluate and test all aspects of your body and mind to understand your health in its entirety.
  • We fully assess your mental, physical, and emotional health and all the areas that can influence your health including stress, poor diet, and environmental triggers.
  • We use the latest diagnostic and evidence-based treatment methods that go beyond just giving medication.
  • After a comprehensive evaluation, your treatment plan will integrate complementary (natural) therapies and conventional treatments.
  • Your progress will be closely monitored, and your plan adjusted as you progress.

We often see patients for the following problems:

  • Gut health and inflammation
  • “Brain fog”

FAQ's

What's the difference between functional and integrative medicine?

Integrative medicine includes modalities such as botanical, mind-body, somatic and other evidence-based therapies, including the most effective treatments from both traditional medicine and complementary medicine to create a plan which to heal mind, body, and spirit. Functional Medicine is included in Integrative Medicine. At FSHN, we incorporate both integrative and functional medicine treatments to give you the most personalized plan to improve your health. Functional medicine is quite specific in its scope. It aims to: 1. Find the underlying/root cause of the problem. 2. Use lab analysis to figure out exactly what is wrong. 3. Use supplements to correct the problem, using medications only as needed. 4. Incorporate lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, stress reduction, and sleep.

What is the best way to get started?

Just call 1820212 or WhatsApp us at 1820212 to schedule a first appointment! In this first appointment Dr. Al-Shaya will fully evaluate you and your medical history and at the end, she will work with you to create an individualized care plan that meets your health goals.

Will I need additional blood tests?

Depending on your health goals and personalized needs, Dr. Al-Shaya may request you to get some additional blood tests. Dr. Al-Shaya makes full use of comprehensive blood testing as well as advanced functional medicine testing for adrenal function, gut health, nutrition, food sensitivities, and cardiometabolic wellness. These tests help Dr. Al-Shaya get to the root of your health concerns and develop more precise treatments. To keep testing costs as low as possible for our patients, we have specific providers we work with and will help you arrange this. Testing costs are not included in the appointment fee though some may be covered by insurance.

Dr. Al-Shaya is a specialist and works in partnership with your primary care physician (PCP). She is board certified in Family Medicine and is well versed in primary care concerns, so she will be an excellent consultant with your current PCP. How can I purchase Vitamins and Supplements?

Medication Refill Policy: • Approval of your refill may take up to seven business days, so please contact us ahead of time. • All prescriptions require follow-up appointments per your treatment plan with Dr. Al-Shaya. • Please discuss medications changes during your appointment.

How often do I need to come in for an appointment?

Every treatment plan is unique. Dr. Al-Shaya will let you know how often to schedule appointments. On average, most patients come in for an appointment every 6 weeks. In order for a patient to get the most out of their visit, FSHN asks that all patients who have not been seen in over a year schedule a new intake. Your body is constantly changing, and a lot of changes occur in a year. A full intake ensures your treatment plan will be fully updated and allows us to give you the best care.
